On the occasion of this important day and to pay our duty towards nature Lions club of Devrukh organised a slogan competition for 1 to 4 th group and drawing competition for 5 to 7 groups in Talwade primary school Talvade, Devrukh. A total of 35 students participated in the competition held by us. The prizes were distributed on the same day. We have given pens and a cadbury as sweet to all participants to encourage them and distributed prizes to respective winners of the competition. Devshayani Ekadashi is one of the auspicious occasions that marks the beginning of Lord Vishnu's sleep cycle. It is a time to celebrate Vishnu's presence and to give thanks for his blessings. Devshayani Ekadashi was on July 17 this year. People in order to celebrate the occasion offer prayers to Lord Vishnu, keep a fast, make rangoli, sing bhajans and chant mantras to impress the deity. We the members of Lions club also celebrated this festival with great enthusiasm and festive mood by distributing राजगिरा लाडू among the 95 children of Jijavu shishuvatika and organized Dindi(दिंडी). Bhajans, Abhangas were sung by children and then the Dindi went to lord Vitthala temple at Devrukh. The activity was accomplished in presence of Devrukh Lions club President Lion Maya Gokhale, and members Lion Manoj Gokhale, Lion Amit Sawant, Lion Nitin Shedge, Lion Gauri Padalkar and Lion Ragini Desai. This day is observed as a celebration of the good health of mothers and expectant mothers. This day is widely observed to raise awareness about maternal health. The World Health Organization (WHO) began celebrating this day to highlight the importance of providing adequate care for mothers while they are expecting and also during motherhood. It is clinically proven that the bay's health is conditioned on the health of mothers. The WHO began celebrating this day to drive attention to the increased mortality rates during pregnancy and the measures that need to be taken to rectify them. On the occasion of this important day Lions club of Devrukh President Lion Maya Gokhale and secretary Lion Aditi Bhave and joint treasurer Lion Ragini Desai visited expecting Mothers by visiting them at their home. These Mothers are first felicitated for their motherhood. They are given some proper guidelines to follow which we collected from gynaecologist Dr mohana Kulkarni. And then these Mothers are distributed Dry fruits packets for their good health.
